2025. It has been a quarter of a century, but it feels like we are just past the year 2000. Time flies, and life and the world change. What about you?
You and I know that beyond all the shenanigans on Earth, there's God and His Word, the Bible. We should be committed to making that our number one priority in 2025. The earthly will pass, but the heavenly will last forever.
I had an interesting exchange with one of my YouTube viewers that I'd like to share with you, and then there something special:
I Love Your Biblical Hebrew Approach, but…
Viewer: I love your approach. The Hebrew language of the Bible does explain so much. However, there are a few things that would improve your precision. If you eschew anything that smacks of modern science fiction that is based in theory and speculation and stick to the biblical cosmology and also take Paul out of your thinking (he was a Gnostic and was well documented to have been rejected by the Twelve trained ones of the Messiah), then you will find things simplify quite a bit.
Much time and energy is wasted by many people trying to harmonize Paul with the rest of the Bible. It's a waste of time. He was a usurper or supplanter, not a real Apostle. He sowed the tares after the good seed was sown. Shalom.
Sam: Wow, the indictment of Paul! How do you explain 2 Pet. 3:15-16 stated by a top Apostle, Peter: “15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.”
Do we throw out Peter as well? Of course not, and we don't throw out Paul. Beware that vs. 16 doesn't apply to what you're saying. Paul has a preponderant part of the New Testament. Can God keep His Word intact for us? Yes, and that includes Paul, who had a very special calling and role to play in the spreading of the Gospel. As for Science, the one thing science does better than anything else is establish MATERIAL measurements, whether it be astronomy, biology, or anatomy, etc.
Unfortunately, they can and do misinterpret those findings, and I agree that this leads to problems. But God's Creation and the reality of our Universe must and do coincide—they are one and the same. Romans 1:20 says the invisible things of God are clearly seen by the things that are made. Science proves God when it is appropriately used.
Skeptical about what's IN the Bible and what's OUT of the Bible
The question about Peter's Epistles is that most biblical scholars say there is no way that Peter wrote either of the Epistles he is credited with and also, the same person definitely did not write both of them. The style of Greek is low in the first and very high in the second. In regard to science, why do you think that it is run honestly? Most of them are godless atheists, just spend some time with them. From a bitter spring, can sweet water come? And if you can reconcile Bereshith 1 with modern science fiction, you must be brilliant. Shalom.
Sam: I should've realized you were going to throw out Peter. I'd quote 1 Tim. 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God,” (which I believe 100% including the fact God has the Power to sustain the integrity of His Word down through history, no matter the circumstances). Still, you'll probably reply that's the renegade Paul's work… if you even believe there was a Timothy. Sorry, I'm being somewhat facetious, but you've shown your hand. You don't believe in the veracity of Scripture, and you believe most everything Atheist Scientists are telling us is false.
So when I say God's Word is Truth (John 17:17), you'll quote some scholar who says, for whatever reason, that's baloney. And when I say an atheist scientist knows Earth is round, that the Universe is expanding, that the Universe started with an explosion… you'll tell me they don't know what they're talking about. What's the point of continuing this discussion.?
You believe what “scholars” tell you ABOUT the Bible, not what's IN the Bible, and Science is all wrong. I've continued this discussion because you SEEMED open to Biblical knowledge. You've just shut that door. Give me a good reason for continuing; otherwise, “let's just kiss and say goodbye.” BTW. I've written a book, a commentary on Bresheet, Genesis 1, going through the Biblical Hebrew. Of course, not everything coincides with science, but specific important points do. You can read the book online. Here's the index: You can also get an ebook or softcover from Amazon and elsewhere.
It's Time to See What God Says IN His Word
Sam: Thanks for your reply. I don't take it as an offense. But instead, as corresponding with someone sincere but mixed up. I think/hope you're looking for truthful answers. At a given time, you have to decide: Am I going to try to open up and give credit, believe God and what's IN His Word, or follow what “scholars” have written ABOUT the Bible? You can't serve two masters. In my opinion, you're leaning toward the wrong master at this time. I hope you find a way through this. Proverbs 16:20 says, “He that handles a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusts in the LORD, happy is he.” All the best.
I'll be adding this to the conversation: Don't be surprised that most scholars and scientist don't understand. it's prophecied: 2 Corinthians 4:
The question for 2025 is: Will we have that outlook on God's Word?
