The Bible refers to God, but the focus is on God’s Creation and the salvation of humans. Mind-Body Problem Solved explains what a human being is.

The Bible is the authentic story of Humankind.

Why write a book, Mind-Body Problem Solved, essentially around one Bible verse, Genesis 2:7? The Bible is, first and foremost, the story of humankind. And the paradox is that we don’t know who we are, why we’re here, or where we’re headed. This book has answered all those queries.
(Mind-Body Problem Solved, Epilogue – Table of Contents)

Science, philosophy, religion, and the Bible cannot be divorced from our daily experiences. Yet, often we box those disciplines into separate segments of our reasoning. The Bible has revealed how the physical and spiritual are integrated into coherent completeness, with humans being the primary example.

Consciousness and mind, neshama and ruach, are central to God’s plan for humans. Only when we understand this basis and why God imbued each physical human with these spiritual attributes can we build out other subjects in the Bible.

God’s Image

For instance, humans possess God’s image. They have free will to decide their purpose in life and how they will function, including their style of relationships, rulership, and, most importantly, reasoning. Will they reason along the lines of God or not? Humans, alone, can accomplish these feats thanks to God breathing the breath of life (neshama) into them.

God’s Family

Humans have the unprecedented opportunity of being God’s sons and daughters and can enter God’s family. One of the primary misunderstood subjects in Genesis 1 is when Elohim (plural) says, “let US make man (adam – humans) in OUR image, after OUR likeness.” God is a Family with a Father, a Son, and a Bride, who is also the Mother, the Church, or the Assembly of family members.

The Apostle Paul uses this analogy “For I am jealous over you (the Church members) with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2). The human family institution, as exposed in Genesis 1, with a male and female multiplying and having children is in the image of God.

The Bible answers all the questions about Genesis 2:7

In the second Preface, I penned a promise about the outcome of Mind-Body Problem Solved.

Nobody understands Genesis 2:7.

Wow, Sam, that’s a strong allegation. What do you mean? Let’s take a closer look at this verse.

Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

  • Who is the Lord? What is the relation to the Higher Power?
  • Why are Lord (Yahveh) singular and God (Elohim) plural?
  • What does formed mean? For instance, why doesn’t it say created?
  • Why from the dust? What’s the difference between dust and ground?
  • Why breathe into the nostrils? Why breathe at all? God could’ve used any method.
  • Did you know that breathed and breath are two different words in Hebrew? What does each mean? What is their relationship?
  • The Hebrew says the breath of liveS. It’s plural. What’s that all about? By the way, the Tree of Life is also the Tree of LiveS, plural. Yes, you’re getting an eyeful today.
  • Does man in Hebrew only refer to the masculine gender or something else?
  • What is a soul? That’s the $1.000.000 question! Everybody talks about it, but for a definition, there’s as much confusion as for the mind.
  • Living soul is singular. So why and how can a singular soul have a plural breath of liveS?

Many singulars, plurals, and variations of the same word are invisible in English. If we want appropriate answers, we have no choice but to delve into Biblical Hebrew. The solution must be coherent and relate to every human being, past, present, and future. God is the God of humankind, or He isn’t. We might have a spiritual component, but we live in a physical world; they must relate.

When you can answer all those questions about Genesis 2:7 and many others, you will answer the mind-body problem with assurance and verity.

  • Understand the Higher Power and the relationship with the mind.
  • Grasp WHAT the mind is and WHY the Higher Power gave it.
  • Fathom WHO possesses a mind and WHY they have one.
  • Realize HOW TO USE your mind to the best of its potential. You’ll understand the role of the mind now and, amazingly, in the future.

This book, the Mind-Body Problem Solved, will explain Genesis 2:7 and answer all the above questions and many more. That’s the sole purpose of its writing.

I believe The Explanation reached and surpassed that purpose. Meditation and guidance have taken The Explanation much further than ever expected over the year of writing this book. One of the main ingredients has been the ability to easily and quickly master Biblical Hebrew with the Bible tools available at

The fastest method to unlock the Bible’s original meaning

The fourth step of the Bible study method to reach the God-intended meaning of Scripture is the key destination for every Biblical Hebrew word. ALL the translations/meanings (multiple, contradictory, figurative, roots) for a given Biblical Hebrew word must tell ONE STORY. That’s it. Bibles give us basically a word-for-word translation. However.

Each Biblical Hebrew word tells ONE COHERENT STORY. ALL the multiple meanings weave together to narrate the original God-intended meaning.

We’ve prayed, meditated on, and studied to reach that, and that alone. Each word is a puzzle piece with its one-and-only shape. The various meanings reveal the contours of each word. When we really tell the word story, we understand WHERE and HOW it assembles with ALL the other pieces of the puzzle.

The Bible study method The Explanation uses for all its Bible commentaries narrates the word stories and assembles them with adjoining words until we build out the full puzzle. Giving us the God-intended meaning of His purpose for the universe and humankind.

All Biblical Hebrew words assemble to tell one story, God's intended meaning.

Mind-Body Problem Solved has answered all the above questions. We’ve narrated the exciting stories of each Biblical Hebrew word and assembled them into the God-intended, original message of Scripture. We’ve revealed the contours of neshama and explained why it’s both a giver and snuffer of life. We’ve reached coherent completeness illustrated by the image Full Definition: Mind, Body, Consciousness.

Where can we find the full definition of the mind, body, and consciousness?

In the first Section, the book addresses universal conundrums but no answers from science, philosophy, and religion. Section 2 revealed where to locate the explanation; then we go deep into the meaning of neshama (3 – consciousness ) and ruach (4 – the power associated with the mind), showing how the latter animates the entire Universe (5). Finally, getting very practical, the book unveils God’s implication for the welfare of all humankind by granting them the path to an abundant life (6) and, specifically, the way to spiritual calling and conversion (7).

in this epilogue, with that in mind, I’d like to draw your attention to one of the Apostle Paul’s insights regarding God’s Word. It’s the elegance, practicality, and especially the simplicity of God’s plan.

2 Corinthians 11:3

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

That verse covers the book, the outer and inner forces of the circles of psychology impacting the human mind and the simplicity of God’s plan for humankind. Scripture is straightforward for those led by the Holy Spirit; God’s plan shines through. “But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). I cannot say it better than Paul.

Now, you have the definition of human; where to from here?

Mind-Body Problem Solved has so many ramifications it wasn’t possible to broach many of them. Hence the reason for links to various books for further details. Other subjects like the Biblical Feasts, Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Pentecost resonate with how humans function, and terms like begotten, babes, born again… have been omitted to keep the book’s length to a reasonable size and still fully cover the subject.

The Mnd-Body subject is far from exhausted, just as the Bible story is far from detailed. Many other pieces of the Bible puzzle still need to be put in their correct one-and-only slot. This is a process that takes time to acquire learning and experience. I’m sure you have questions.
