World Peace or the world in pieces. Two opposite results at the ends of the worldview rainbow. To which one are we headed?
World peace is the quest of all leadership. World peace, my way. We’ve discussed reasoning by observation, philosophy, science, and religion. All hold hope and advice but, given the present state of affairs, none has an ultimate clear-cut solution to reach this objective. Are we going to just throw up our arms and say, “oh well”?
(Audit of Humankind, Epilogue)
Here’s what the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists wrote about the Doomsday Clock in January 2019.
Humanity now faces two simultaneous existential threats, either of which would be cause for extreme concern and immediate attention. These major threats—nuclear weapons and climate change—were exacerbated this past year by the increased use of information warfare to undermine democracy around the world, amplifying risk from these and other threats and putting the future of civilization in extraordinary danger.
There is nothing normal about the complex and frightening reality just described.
This is the Epilogue of Audit of the Universe which, because of its length, will be turned into two books, the latter and Audit of Humankind (the 2nd and 3rd along with Inventory of the Universe). The purpose of these three books is simple. To give you a complete worldview. They are a survey of WHAT the Universe and Life are coupled with a State of the World and Humankind.
Throughout this work, I’ve used one major analogy, a JIGSAW PUZZLE. We’ve turned all the pieces right side up. This includes the physical Universe in Inventory and especially humankind in Origin of Humankind. To our knowledge, we humans have the highest intelligence in the Universe, certainly on Earth. I’ve laid out WHO we are with our MINDS (chapter 9). our singularities (chap. 10), HOW we function (chap. 11), socialize (chap. 12) and rule (chap 13). I’ve devoted a fair bit of space on HOW humans REASON (chap 14), based on observation, philosophy, science, and religion because that is the sum of our knowledge and wisdom. There’s a lot of know-how in these disciplines but, it is fragmented and there is no consensus even within each field, let alone in all four fields. There is no direct path for establishing a lasting peace on planet Earth.
I’ve been blogging twice a week. Audit on Tuesday and Origin on Thursday. With Audit finishished, I will only be blogging on Thursday. As you know I’ll show you why and how we have to look at theology. How and why theology leads us into the Bible and the exposition of the book of Genesis. I’ve reached Genesis 2:7 and explained what consciousness and mind are. For now, I’ll only be blogging on Thursdays (unless something important comes up for a Tuesday blog).
Also, I’ve had TWO SUBSCRIPTION LISTS. Some of you are on the Unlock Bible Meaning list. I’m combining the two lists and moving you over to the The Explanation list. It will be seamless since both lists were receiving all blog posts. You don’t have to do anything, you will continue to receive all future posts as normal.
It has been necessary to reframe and refocus some basics like humans characterized by their human nature with both positive and negative attitudes that each of us must learn to master or the principles of free will. Or the social role of couples and the traditional family and its role in childrearing. When we start a trip we’ve got to make sure we have the correct equipment, maps, and a compass.
The second analogy for Audit has been the half full, half empty glass. It’s not a question of optimism and pessimism, or whether the planet is solving its problems or creating more problems. My presentation is not to take sides but to reveal where we are. Whichever positive, negative or neutral camp you’re a part of, I think you’ll agree that our world leaders and the world population are in trying times. That’s what the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists feel. Practical, real and durable solutions are elusive, even when local and world bodies come up with positive plans. They tend to get diluted and deflated with the ebb and flow of personal and national interests, necessities and concerns.
Science knows and says it cannot delve into the why, only the how. On a human level, philosophy tries to occupy the why gap, but, as I’ve pointed out, can only go as far as the human brain and imagination can take it, which is limited to human reasoning. While religion which is supposed to go above and beyond, into the spiritual realm has lost its way and focused on doctrine and tradition.
Where are the answers, solutions?
Government, science, philosophy, religion, the mainstays of our civilization, are talking the talk, but not walking the walk. Something appears to be sadly out of step. As the pilot said, I have good and bad news for you, “we’re cruising along at top speed… but we don’t know where we’re going.”
While we grasp for straws, try to inflate a lifebelt around earth to save it from going under, I’ve presented the Coherent Completeness which must include science and religion and used it as the thread, the common denominator, to tie all the intermingled, seemingly unrelated items (material, immaterial, spiritual, concepts, emotions…) together. When the idea came to write this work, the question was “how should I approach it?”. Dealing with the delicate subject that easy to turn readers off. People with strong or definite scientific, philosophical, religious or political points of view don’t like to have it insinuated that they could be wide of the mark.
Very quickly, I adopted the Coherent Completeness formula as the format of presentation. People are curious, they are searching and hunting for answers. They are hungry for understanding… not just knowledge and tidbit news-bites. They want the overall picture, to see how events fit together, they want to make sense out of their surroundings and their life. They want to assemble the puzzle pieces perfectly. World Peace and not World Pieces.
That’s the presumptuous position this book has sought to fulfill.
When you’re on a trip at top speed, know your destination, have the stages of your travel planned and the major details taken care of, you can sit back, take a deep breath of fresh air and feel relatively confident. That’s what the desire of this author has been. To give you an overall picture with the stepping stones to a predictable satisfying end result. To bring into focus the unrelated tidbits and give you a certain hope and peace of mind, in spite of the stress and sad stories we hear daily.
That said, in no work I’ve read or heard of, has anyone gone far beyond their discipline to fit their few pieces of the jigsaw into the 993 pieces that give the entire picture. That completed puzzle is The Explanation, the Coherent Completeness, that I’ve started to develop in this book.
The next two books, which are already written and online, Origin of the Universe and Origin of Mankind continue to develop Coherent Completeness. I enlighten you about some long sought after ideas and answers to solve some of the conundrums and questions that were unsolved and were possibly the cause of anxiety and inquietude. They will help you straighten out the confusion and let you see some light, ushering in a calmer and more peaceable mind. A stable comprehending mind is a life giver.
