Humans possess Purpose because God endowed us with His Neshama. We are in His Image; He has a purpose. Likewise, we possess this quality.

No vision, no purpose, people perish, people are anxious.

Humans are set apart as unique living beings on Earth because they are the sole proprietors (Joshua 11:14) of the God-given spirit neshama (Genesis 2:7 breath of life). which confers on each human Godly understanding (Job 38:2), also translated perception and discernment (H995). This is the basis of human mentality, which we call consciousness and awareness.

I want to Unlock Bible Meaning

Five qualities of neshama, consciousness.: purpose, conduct, reasoning, socialization, and rulership.God transferred a human portion of His Divine Consciousness to humans, making each one of us in His image. The first chapters of the Bible, Genesis, reveal the five fundamental qualities of being human that set us light-years apart from animals and put us on the God plane. They are purpose, conduct, reasoning, socialization, and rulership. Over the next few chapters, I’ll elaborate on each of them. This chapter is devoted to purpose.

God Has Purpose

Here’s how we know God’s Neshama possesses the trait of  Purpose.

Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed (H3335) man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Let’s see the Biblical Hebrew meaning.

H3335

יָצַר yâtsar yaw-tsar’; probably identical with H3334 (יָצַר) (through the squeezing into shape); (compare H3331 (יַצַע)); to mould into a form; especially as a potter; figuratively, to determine (i.e. form a resolution):

KJV – ⨯ earthen, fashion, form, frame, make(-r), potter, purpose.

Whether it’s Strong’s definition, squeeze into shape, form a resolution, or the KJV translator’s exact translation purpose, it’s clear that when God formed the first human, He had a long-term project in mind—just like a potter who, when they put the clay on the wheel, has in their mind a picture of the final product.

Here’s God’s challenge to atheists and doubters: “Shall the work [humans] say of him (God) that made it, He made me not? Or shall the thing framed (H3336) say of him that framed (H3335) it, He had no understanding (H995)? (Isaiah 29:16). Humans call into question God’s Consciousness and Understanding; we’d be better off at least paying a little attention to His Word, where God says He has a purpose for creating us.

Humans Alone Possess Purpose

Do humans have the quality of yatsar, purpose? At UnlockBibleMeaning.com, in Strong’s Concordance with the H3335 reference displayed on the right, click on Hebrew Concordance for H3335. Here are a couple of verses confirming that we have the same image of God in that we inherently possess purpose.

Psalm 94:20

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with you [humans], which frames (H3335) mischief by a law?

Isaiah 44:12

The smith with the tongs both works in the coals, and fashions (H3335) it with hammers, and works it with the strength of his arms…

Only God and humans are purpose-driven, yatsar, beings. That’s because we’re in His Image.

Aspects of Purpose

We can subdivide this human singularity into many more qualities that endow every human being. Click the links for a more profound view of these human characteristics.

  1. Space-Time is Not Only a Scientific Theory, but It’s Also a Human Singularity (1.2 in the book Audit of Humankind)
Each of us has 24 hours (our time) to manage whatever we want (our space). It consists of 8 hours (time) of work in a space like a home, office, factory, truck, or ship. Eight hours in your bedroom, sleeping, and your recreation time in a space like a forest. Your space includes every physical item you use, including the intangibles like the air you breathe, the electricity to run the tools, the kitchen’s odors, or the gymnasium’s heat. Humans alone manage their space-time.
  2. Creativity Sets Humankind Apart from and Above All Other Life on Earth(1.3)
I’m amazed by the inventiveness of human ingenuity, aren’t you? The myriad ways to cook food, decorate a room, build a house, catch fish, turn wood, etc. God is the Creator, and the neshama equips every human with the ability to invent objects, ideas, and ways of accomplishing tasks. It’s never-ending.
  3. Imagination—Another Singularity of Humankind in Your Consciousness (1.4)
Whenever a writer throws words on a page, a painter dips their brush in paint, or a designer sketches lines on a serviette in a restaurant, they imagine. We’ve filled our consumer society with merchandise that started in someone’s conceptualizing mind. Each product was first a figment of a creator’s imagination, a flash of insight, a daydream, or maybe even a nightdream. Imagination is where everything starts. Humans imagine because they possess consciousness, neshama.
  4. Bears Don’t Learn to Ride Bicycles. Humans Learn That and Much More (1.5)
To learn is a lifelong endeavor. It starts with how to suck your mother’s nipple and ends with how to get out of bed with an arthritis-wracked body. There always was, is, and will be something new to understand. When humans look up at the cloudy sky and wonder about the weather, pick up their daily newspaper, listen to the news, or watch it on their mobile phones, they learn about the world around them and themselves. When consciousness stops, learning stops.
  5. Your Choices Tell Us Who You Are. In Fact, They Identify You(1.6)
Every human being has a choice over various aspects of their life. Humankind is one race, but through choice, we’re 8 billion individuals. Through our consciousness, we choose our personal hairdo, what we read or watch, the causes we support, and the ideas we propagate.
  6. Growth Mindset—A Frame of Mind Unique to Humankind(1.7)
Consciousness confers on humans the thrill of making progress. Seeing oneself and others improve their lives. Not just earning more money or living in a luxury house. But progress is like piling blocks one on top of each other, learning the alphabet, riding a bicycle, learning the waltz, and driving a car. So daily, we make incremental improvements to our life experiences.
  7. I Challenge you … A Human Trait that Keeps Us Moving Forward(1.8)
Whether it’s a face-off over a game of Monopoly or a personal test to obtain one’s driver’s license, the challenge is a uniquely human characteristic. Over two billion people step up to the challenge of playing video games. That’s about one in four people worldwide. Huge. Why do they play? It’s fun, but it’s also a challenge. We’re trying to beat something. Better our score, faster, more accurate, more skill. We all have personal records that we’re proud of, but we always try to improve; this is an aspect of consciousness necessary for the purpose of life.

Edifying young minds, nurturing and healing depressed and anxious minds means guiding people to see why they’re here now. It encourages them to find and activate their innate creativity, imagination, learning, growth, challenge to focus on their big purpose in life.

Having a Purpose is Primary in Life’s Trajectory

Neither Science nor Psychology understands the origin of this uniquely human trait, yet they grasp the importance of having a plan with objectives.

“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Nothing is more creative… nor destructive… than a brilliant mind with a purpose.” ― Dan Brown, Inferno

“Make your work to be in keeping with your purpose.”  ― Leonardo da Vinci

“You can have anything you want if you want it badly enough. You can be anything you want to be, do anything you set out to accomplish if you hold to that desire with singleness of purpose.” ― Abraham Lincoln

What’s Your Purpose?

Although science and psychology are ignorant of the origin of establishing and striving toward a long-term mission, they fully know its importance on the human psyche. This book, Transform Your Mind, Upgrade Your Life, is based on God’s Word. However, the principles elaborated on are valid for all humans regardless of their individual characteristics. No matter your present situation, prince or pauper, happy or unhappy, sick or healthy, employed or jobless, the main point to grasp to uplift your life is to aim for an objective.

Life is an arrow heading for its target; you must plunge toward your aspiration. You must establish your mission in life. Your goal is to find your purpose. There are many excellent free and paid resources in libraries and on the internet… Here’s an article with fifteen key questions to get you started.
