The foolishness of the Bible is what some proclaim. For many, the Book of Genesis is a fable or allegoric. Learn how real and down-to-earth God’s Word is.

Valuable foolishness, that's what God's Word is. Let's focus on the realism of Genesis.

Valuable foolishness, that’s what God’s Word is. Let’s focus on the realism of Genesis.

The foolishness of what’s in the Bible is the seal that God’s Word is True. Theology puts what God says first. Not what we might think it says; this is the reason, so few comprehend what God has in store for humanity.
(Origin of Humankind, chapter 2.9)

Since the beginning of this project, I have yearned to explain the creation of the male and the female, man and woman, Adam, and Eve. To be upfront with you, I had less desire, even very little desire, to write Inventory of the Universe and Audit of the Universe. They cover vast and deep subjects of which I’m anything but a specialist. But, I felt compelled to write them because, without that background, Origin of the Universe and Origin of Humankind would NOT have the right basis, a solid foundation.

Most people have some understanding of the world today, what they see, hear, touch, feel, and even smell around them. Our world is, by nature, limited to our environment, our culture, our neighborhood, our education, our feelings, our outlook, and worldview. Inventory and Audit had to address those basic issues and put them into perspective. What each of us has experienced in our personal lives serves as the entry point to the biggest adventure of all, God’s universe.

God modeled it that way by creating humans in His image. He wants us to live His experience on a human level. Life on Earth is an immersion into God’s life, but on a human, physical, dust, level. He has endowed us with human nature and free will for that very purpose; this will become clear with The Explanation of the Creation and the first days of Adam and Eve in chapter 2 and 3 of Genesis.

But that starts next week. Because today I feel I must explain to you one of the biggest enigmas of all times concerning the Bible. Why are there so many interpretations, misinterpretations, misunderstandings, contrasting and opposite outlooks, and battles over the Bible? Notwithstanding the Serpent’s role in deceiving the world, which is Bible fact, God could’ve made it easier to understand His Word. After all, God is the more powerful of these two powerhouses.

The foolishness of the world is wisdom to the wise

Instead, God has allowed His Word to pass as foolishness. Just writing that sounds foolish! But, God’s Word corroborates this in 1 Corinthians 1:18, 21 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

The more foolish it is, the more stupid it is to those who consider the Bible as having little or no value. And Genesis chapters 1-3 are foolishness in the eyes of most. I’d even go so far as to say in the eyes of a lot of religions, religious, theologians, and even believers.

Yet, The Explanation will show you that Genesis 1-3 preaches the cross. There again, even this particular word cross does not do justice to Paul’s message. It is MUCH more than just Christ’s death, but I can’t get into that here. Genesis 1-3 publishes, via the Bible, the entire plan of God why He created humankind and the purpose of placing humanity on Earth. The reason why humankind has trials. How God is intervening to accomplish His plan and what the incredible outcome of that plan is.

The foolishness of the cross (because it centers on Jesus Christ) is truth and the basis of faith. Wow. Most don’t read it that way. Well, The Explanation expands that foolishness and shows you its relationship to the Word, Yahveh, God.

Yes, ALL of God’s plan is in Genesis 1-3. And yes, ALL of this is considered foolishness by most people.

Here’s foolishness: making a man out of mud, breathing life into his nostrils, putting him to sleep, taking a part of his side, planting a garden, planting two trees to represent good and evil, and letting a serpent loose in the garden. Further on, with Abraham, letting a father murder his son! Having the son carry the wood of his own pyre, this is dastardly! It’s absurd, looking at it with human eyes! That’s why many get so hot under the collar and castigate the Bible.

The last post is considered foolishness, for those who look on it that way. After all, God transforming animal behavior from tame to ferocious and digestion from herbivore to carnivore. Watering the earth with rain instead of mist and the reason why. That is ludicrous. First of all, how can you make such changes, modifying the entire water cycle? Secondly, why not immediately send rain rather than mist? What’s the point? There is a point, as I explained.

The next few posts are going to be about foolishness you’ve never heard before! In fact, the rest of Genesis chapters 2 and 3 are going to give you the most foolish explanations you’ve NEVER EVER HEARD BEFORE for these weird events mentioned two paragraphs ago.

In reality, Genesis chapters 1-3 relate New Testament theology. They give a vivid picture of WHO God is, WHAT God is accomplishing, and WHY God is doing it the way He is. It also vividly explains WHO humankind is, WHAT humankind is on Earth for. WHY we’re on Earth and WHAT our FUTURE is. It’s all there, and some might think what I’ve just written is foolishness. All I can say is, stay tuned and check it out for yourself.

One point to keep in mind is that when reading Genesis solely in English, it is impossible to see the details. We have to take a closer look at the Biblical Hebrew, and I’ll be zooming in to enlarge the meanings of words, and hopefully your mind, as to their comprehension.

The Explanation will show you correspondences like before and rain as well as the connection between them. We’ll especially be looking at the physical versus spiritual meaning. Some might call this figurative understanding, but, it is not conjecture because I’ll show you Biblewide corroboration. I’ll even go so far as to say, when you see it, you’ll wonder why it wasn’t explained to you before.

In Genesis and throughout the Bible, there are valid reasons for ALL the details, even the strange ones of which, I agree, there are a number. If you see a detail and think its foolish, it is NOT. It’s just we don’t understand it yet. That’s what meditate on God’s Word is all about.

Think and pray, ask, and receive, it might take days, months, years, depending on the puzzle piece and whether the picture you’ve constructed or assembled is correct or not. If you misconstrue understanding, then you’ll be forcing pieces, and either they won’t fit, or you’ll force another piece into the wrong place. The more you have the correct puzzle picture, the easier it will be to place new pieces, new details in their correct position.

That’s how God turns foolishness into belief.

I want to ask you a favor. If you know of anyone else who would like this foolishness, then please don’t hesitate to share this or any other blog post with them. The goal of The Explanation is to share the knowledge of Genesis and, of course, the rest of the Bible as it relates to our world today. Its particularity is that it uses the meaning of the original languages to enlighten understanding of the scriptures. For instance, look at the deeper meaning of the word preaching as in preaching the cross. It goes far beyond standing up in a pulpit.

1 Corinthians 1:18, 21
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching (G2782) to save them that believe.

G2782

κήρυγμα kērugma kay’-roog-mah; From G2784; a proclamation (especially of the gospel; by implication the gospel itself):

KJV – preaching.

G2784

κηρύσσω kērussō kay-roos’-so; Of uncertain affinity; to herald (as a public crier) especially divine truth (the gospel):

KJV – preach (-er), proclaim, publish.

Study the meaning of the base of the Greek word cross in this same verse. You’ll see it encompasses much more than just a stake.
